FTSE Russell Partners with Chainlink to Publish Stock Indexes On-Chain
BlockBeats News, November 4th, according to Cointelegraph, global index provider FTSE Russell has partnered with Chainlink to publish its benchmark stock indices and digital asset indices on the blockchain, showcasing how blockchain technology is being used to provide institutional-grade market data.
Chainlink announced that through its DataLink institutional data feed powered by an oracle network, data for the Russell 1000 Index, Russell 2000 Index, Russell 3000 Small Cap Index, FTSE 100 Index, and several digital asset benchmark indices will be available on multiple blockchains.
The Russell Index series is widely used as benchmarks for U.S. small and mid-cap stocks, with over $18 trillion in assets globally tracking these indices.
FTSE Russell CEO Fiona Bassett stated that this move is one of the company's strategies to drive "innovation around tokenized assets" and support the development of exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
