Following today's collective dovish remarks by multiple Fed officials, the betting on a December rate cut has heated up again, after the rate cut probability had once dropped below 30%. The probability of keeping rates unchanged in December is 8.2%.
The probability of the Fed holding rates steady until January 2026 is 19.2%, the cumulative probability of a 25 basis point rate cut is 57.1%, and the cumulative probability of a 50 basis point rate cut is 23.7%.
The dates of the next two FOMC meetings are December 10 and January 28, 2026.
